Nine Donation Boxes of Maa Majhi Ghariani Opened in Rayagada

Kotpad  29th January 2025 The donation boxes (hundis) of the temple of Maa Majhi Ghariani, the presiding deity of Rayagada district, have been opened, and the offerings have been counted. A total of ₹94,49,054, along with 93 grams of gold and 2 kg 170 grams of silver, have been collected from the nine donation boxes. Additionally, 132 coins from various countries have been found, including coins from the USA, Qatar, and Oman. It is assumed that some devotees living abroad visited the temple and made these offerings.

As per the information, the hundis were opened in the presence of a magistrate and police, under the supervision of the temple management committee. The counting process lasted for 12 hours. It is noteworthy that the hundis are usually opened for counting three to four times a year.
