Koraput: The new building of Koraput Town Police Station has been inaugurated. The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, inaugurated it via video conference. Raghuram Machha, the MLA of Koraput, was the chief guest at the event and officially inaugurated the building.
On this occasion, Akhileshwar Singh, DIG of South Western Range; V. Keerthi Vasan, Koraput District Collector; Manoj Kumar Pujari and Manobrata Satapathy, Additional SPs; Shravani Nayak, SDPO of Koraput; Manoj Acharya, representative of the Member of Parliament; and Shiva Muduli, President of the BJP District Committee, were present.
The three-story building was constructed at a cost of ₹2.72 crore. It consists of 32 rooms. The ground floor accommodates the police station office, the second floor houses a waiting hall, meeting hall, and barracks, while the third floor is designated for storage.
The police station is equipped with modern facilities, including a conference hall, separate waiting rooms for men and women, a kitchen, toilets, and various other amenities.
Students from different colleges participated in the event. Manobrata Satapathy (Additional SP), Shravani Nayak (SDPO), and Koraput Town Police Station Officer Satyananada Patra educated the students about legal awareness.
The Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation, under the Koraput Division, managed the project, with Gaurang Kumar Jena, the project manager, overseeing the event.
