Online applications are invited for admission to the 6th grade in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the academic year 2026-27 through the entrance examination.

In each district, there are residential schools based on co-education for students with separate hostels for boys and girls. These schools provide free education and accommodation.

Eligibility:
The candidate must be a resident of the district where the application is being made.
The candidate must have been studying in Class 5 during the academic year 2025-26 in a government/government-recognized school within the same district.
The candidate should have completed the 3rd and 4th grades from a government/government-recognized school and should have been born between 1st May 2014 and 31st July 2016 (both dates inclusive).

Reservation:
At least 75% of the seats in rural areas will be filled by local candidates.
