“Nari Shakti Bandhan” Programme in Puri to Promote Women Empowerment

Puri:April 18:  The Puri district administration organised the “Nari Shakti Bandhan – Empowered Women, Empowered India” programme, in which Pravati Parida attended and participated by lighting a lamp before Lord Jagannath and taking her seat on the dais.
She stated that the sacred land of Shri Jagannath in Puri gives a strong message of women empowerment. Goddesses such as Maa Subhadra, Maa Mahalaxmi, Maa Bimala, and Maa Ardhashini are eternally worshipped and revered in this holy place.
She further said that in the present era, as the vision of a developed India moves forward, it is our responsibility to give due respect and importance to women in this “Amrit Kaal”. She called upon everyone to support the “Nari Shakti Bandhan” legislation and take a collective pledge to strengthen it.
On this occasion, she also felicitated and congratulated women achievers who have brought pride to the state and the country through their success in various fields.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mohapatra, State Women Commission member Urmila Mohapatra, and several other women administrators and officials.
