Nabarangpur The first National Lok Adalat of 2025 was conducted under the district legal services authority, Nabarangpur, following the directives of District Judge & Chairman Subrata Mohanty.
During the proceedings, District Judge Subrata Mohanty resolved one motor accident compensation case, granting a compensation of ₹8,40,100, along with six other cases, awarding Rs19,27,567 as compensation. Family Court Judge Lilipta Prasanna Sahu settled 15 family disputes, including two long-standing marital disputes, by reconciling the couples.
Additionally, Additional District Judge Vishnu Prasad Mishra resolved one other case, while Senior Civil Judge Monita Tripathi settled two loan-related disputes, recovering Rs9,09,926.60 in dues. Senior Civil Judge (Women’s Court) adjudicated six criminal cases, and Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Soumya Shankar Mohanty resolved 118 criminal cases, collecting a total fine of Rs11,50,000.
In total, 239 court cases and 11,776 revenue cases were settled during this National Lok Adalat, resulting in a revenue collection of Rs15,82,623. Furthermore, 22 pre-litigation bank cases were resolved, recovering ₹2,77,000 in loan repayments. Similarly, 19 pre-litigation cases related to BSNL and TPSODL were settled, recovering Rs 5,41,400 in dues.
Prominent attendees at the event included Chief Judicial Magistrate Seema Tripathi and District Court Registrar Sukanta Kishore Jena. The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Smt. Sai Abhispa Gochhayat, supervised the proceedings, while court lawyers and staff members provided necessary support.
