Puri, July 14 (UDN): Thousands of devotees gathered in Puri on Tuesday to witness the sacred Nabajoubana Darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra after the completion of the 15-day Anasara period.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) announced that the Parimanik (ticketed) Darshan will be held from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, followed by general darshan for devotees from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
The darshan will begin after the completion of important rituals, including Mangala Alati and Abakasha Niti. The occasion marks the first public appearance of the sibling deities after their symbolic recovery and secret rituals during the Anasara period.
In view of the large gathering of devotees, the temple administration has made extensive arrangements for crowd management and smooth movement of visitors. General devotees will enter through the Singhadwara, while ticketed devotees will be allowed entry through the Dakshina Dwara.
Security has been tightened around the temple and the Grand Road area, with police personnel, temple officials, and servitors deployed to ensure the orderly conduct of the event.
The Nabajoubana Darshan holds special importance ahead of Rath Yatra 2026, as devotees seek blessings of the deities before the grand chariot festival.
