Monsoon Covers Entire Odisha, Bringing Relief Across the State

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon has now covered the entire state of Odisha. The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state over the next three days.

According to Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Meteorological Centre, a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal at 5:30 AM today. Due to its effect, intense rainfall is likely in the state within the next 24 hours.

The sea is also expected to remain rough, and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. The weather office has estimated that some parts of the state will continue to experience very heavy rainfall till June 20.

Within the next 24 hours, districts like Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, and Mayurbhanj are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain. Similarly, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Cuttack may also experience heavy showers.

For tomorrow, the forecast predicts extremely heavy rainfall in one or two places in Mayurbhanj district. The same warning applies to Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak, which may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has projected that heavy rainfall will continue across Odisha till June 20.
