Bhubaneswar, May 22: As preparations for the world-famous Sambalpur Sital Sasthi Yatra are underway in full swing, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been formally invited to participate in this grand public festival. In the presence of Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra in Bhubaneswar, members of the Sital Sasthi Yatra Joint Action Committee met the Chief Minister and handed over the official invitation letter.
Full Support Assured by the Government
During the courtesy meeting, Chief Minister Majhi held detailed discussions with committee members regarding the successful organization and management of the festival. He assured that the Odisha government would provide all necessary logistical and administrative support to preserve this unique cultural heritage of Odisha and to ensure convenience for devotees attending the event.
Representatives of Three Major Localities Present
Several senior members of the Joint Action Committee representing Sambalpur’s three famous localities—Jhaduapada, Nandapada, and Mudipada—were present on the occasion.
From Jhaduapada Committee: Saroj Dalpat, Sushant Purohit, and Parthasarathi Mishra.
From Nandapada Committee: Sameer Ranjan Babu, Phanibhusan Mishra, and Prabhudatta Panda.
From Mudipada Committee: Sunil Das, Satyakanta Mahapatra, Ghanashyam Patel, and Gangadhar Bhoi, among others.
Following the invitation extended to the Chief Minister, excitement among the people of Sambalpur regarding this year’s Sital Sasthi Yatra has increased even further.
