Malkangiri Youth Red Cross Volunteers Join National Service Camp During Rath Yatra

Malkangiri: During this year’s auspicious Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, volunteers from Malkangiri district’s Youth Red Cross actively participated in the National Service Camp in Puri. The team included Dr. Ranjan Kumar Swain (District Organizational Secretary of Red Cross), Niranjan Maharana (Junior Red Cross Officer, Malkangiri), social worker Markand Charan Das, and student Gour Majhi from Biju Patnaik College, Govindapalli.

They rendered essential services like distributing drinking water, sprinkling water, providing first aid, stretcher assistance, sweeping and cleaning the Grand Road (Bada Danda) in Puri — thereby enhancing the prestige of Malkangiri district through their dedication.

The inaugural ceremony of the National Red Cross Service Camp was held at Puri Town Hall, where the Governor of Odisha, Dr. Raghubar Das, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Other notable dignitaries included Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Honorary Secretary of Red Cross Ganesh Patra, State Youth Red Cross Officer Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera, State Junior Red Cross Officer Laxman Swain, along with officials from various departments.
