Malkangiri: A District Revenue Review Meeting was held at the Sadbhavana Conference Hall of the District Panchayat Office in Malkangiri. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil and attended by Additional District Collector (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan, Sub-Collector Durjyodhan Bhoi, all Tehsildars, Additional Tehsildars, Deputy Collector (Revenue), Assistant District Collector (Revenue), and officials and staff from various other departments of the district.
The meeting focused on various topics under the Revenue Department, including revenue collection, eviction of illegal encroachments on government land, among other key issues. The District Collector emphasized that “The people are the true rulers; the administration exists to serve them.” He advised all officials to ensure that public services are completed within the stipulated time.
He also directed that the benefits of every government scheme should effectively reach the people. Special attention was given to the distribution of scooter pattas (ownership titles), and the allocation of forest land pattas under the Forest Rights Act. The Collector stressed that no genuine beneficiary should be excluded under the Vasundhara Scheme.
For projects delayed due to pending land acquisition, officials were instructed to complete the acquisition process without further delay. Specifically, the Tehsildars were directed to expedite land acquisition procedures for the upcoming railway project in the district.
Additionally, it was instructed to ensure immediate financial assistance to the families of those who die in natural calamities. Measures to prevent illegal liquor trade and smuggling were also discussed. The Excise Department was directed to form enforcement teams and intensify raids to curb such activities.
