Let’s Buy a Book Campaign Inspires Readers on Odia Day in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: On the ninth day of the Odia Week celebration, a program titled “Āsa Bahiṯiē Kiṇibā” (Let’s Buy a Book) was organized today at Nabarangpur College. The event was held under the chairmanship of the college principal, B. Govinda Rao.

Among those present were Vice-Principal and Lecturer Sangeeta Tripathi, Head of the Odia Department Nandita Mishra, Head of the Economics Department Dillip Hota, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera, and District Culture Officer Ghasia Harijan.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized that in order to preserve the Odia language, literature, and culture, it is essential to buy and read books. They stated that if reading books becomes a part of our daily habit starting today, we can surely delve into timeless novels, stories, and poems, and also encourage and support writers.

During the program, students were presented with books authored by great Odia writers and biographies of legendary personalities.

Similarly, at the Nabarangpur Women’s Degree College, the same campaign was conducted where students and faculty members participated and took a pledge to buy and read Odia books with the aim of enriching Odisha’s literature, language, and cultural heritage.
