Legal Awareness Camp Conducted in Gunupur to Empower Citizens

Gunupur,: A Legal Awareness Camp was organized at Gunupur College in Rayagada district with the support of the Gunupur Taluk Legal Services Committee, focusing on the theme of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The program was chaired by Debadatta Pattnayak, Head of the Department of Sanskrut and Additional District Judge, while Sumitra Sahu, Sub-Judge of the local court, and Bijayalaxmi Mohapatra, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, attended as guests.

Also present were Gaurishankar Das, President of the Bar Association, Ramesh Chandra Lima, Vice-President, and Krushnachandra Senapati, Public Prosecutor. Among others who participated were Dr. Jawahar Choudhury, Acting Principal of the college, and Kamalakanta Kahanr, IIC of Adarsh Police Station.

During the event, Jagannath Deep, Professor of the Odia Department, delivered the welcome address. He emphasized the negative impacts of drug abuse and smuggling and called for collective awareness.

Ramesh Lima, Vice-President of the Bar Association, conducted the stage proceedings, while Dr. Satyaban Garada, Professor of History, offered the vote of thanks at the conclusion.

Law student L. Dimpal Rani, other college students, and faculty members including Satish Pattnayak, Amiya Ranjan Mahanti, Tamil Paraseth, Dristimayi Badrahit, Jyotiranjan Pattnayak, Sunita Gamang, and Lakshman Sabar actively contributed to the program’s success.
