Lanjigarh : Lanjigarh MLA Pradeep Kumar Disari visited various villages under the Atri, Maligaon, and Gopinathpur Gram Panchayats in the Thuamul Rampur mining-affected region of Kalahandi district. During his visit, he went door-to-door and interacted with the tribal communities, listening to their problems and concerns.
He assured the residents that steps would be taken to address their issues in the coming days. The region is affected by Utkal Alumina mining operations and lacks basic facilities such as drinking water, healthcare, education, and transportation. The locals alleged that the company has failed to fulfill its commitments made to the community.
The MLA discussed with the people how they could benefit from various government schemes and welfare measures, and how they could improve their economic conditions. He emphasized the importance of vocational training for educated youths in the area so they can contribute to different sectors of society.
He also informed members of self-help groups (SHGs) about the process of availing government or bank loans and using those funds to establish various livelihood opportunities. His initiative and direct engagement were praised by the local residents, who expressed hope for real improvements.
