Kolanara: Preparations for the Rath Yatra in Kolanara have begun. The construction of the Kuni Rath (small chariot) has reached its final stage. Every year, the height of Lord Mahaprabhu’s chariot is gradually increased. The new chariot, made from fresh wood, is currently being painted by the youth of the village.
Chariot artisan K. Nageshwar begins the construction each year after preparing and treating the chariot wood. Similarly, this year, the chariot construction began right after the wood was made ready.
Along with this, the local youths, after finishing their own daily work, are dedicating time to assist in the chariot construction.
It has been noted that this year’s chariot is slightly taller than last year’s.
