Kotpad : On the occasion of World Environment Day today, a public awareness program was organized by the Kotpad Notified Area Council to promote the ban on polythene usage. As part of the 125th World Environment Day celebrations, the focus was on eliminating plastic usage and promoting environmental protection in Kotpad town.
Under the support of the Kotpad Notified Area Council, a procession started from the D.A.C. office and proceeded to the Urban Health Centre, where tree plantation was carried out. Later, a city tour was conducted which concluded with tree plantation in the premises of Kapileshwar Temple, located in Hatpada.
On this occasion, Chairman M. Shankar Rao and Executive Officer Kamalesh Mohanty encouraged the public to maintain a plastic-free Kotpad town, avoid plastic use, and contribute to environmental preservation. They emphasized key actions like:
Keeping homes and surroundings clean.
Using toilets instead of defecating in the open.
Disposing of garbage and plastic waste in dustbins instead of throwing them into drains or sewage channels.
They urged the residents of Kotpad region to follow these guidelines.
