Kotpad: The birth anniversary of Vikram Dev Varma was celebrated at the Kotpad Gopabandhu Library, organized by Kotpad Sambad Sahitya Ghar and Jeypore Sahitya Parishad.
The event was presided over by Ganesh Chandra Panda, President of Kotpad Sambad Sahitya Ghar. Chief guests included Harihara Karasudha Pattnaik (former president of Jeypore Sahitya Ghar), Niranjan Panigrahi (editor of Sahitya Parishad), Pankaj Kumar Patra, Jitendranath Mahapatra, and Pushpalata Muduli.
The guests spoke in detail about Rajarsi Vikram Dev Varma’s life and literary contributions. They emphasized that publishing literature on his works and biography for students would provide the new generation an opportunity to learn about such a visionary figure. A proposal was made by Sambad Sahitya Ghar to publish a book on his life and achievements.
Mr. Karasudha Pattnaik also invited everyone to a grand event scheduled on the 28th at Jeypore. He called upon the people of the undivided district to remember and honor Vikram Dev’s invaluable contribution to the formation of Odisha. Mrs. Muduli also recited a poem dedicated to Vikram Dev Varma.

Kundura Block Observance:
At Lima Government High School in Kundura Block, Rajarsi Vikram Dev Varma Jayanti was celebrated under the chairmanship of Headmaster Sushant Kumar Dash. An interactive discussion was held on “The Life and Literary Contributions of Rajarsi Vikram Dev Varma.” The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony.
The main speaker, Sanskrit teacher Biranchi Narayan Panda, shed light on the struggles of Rajarsi’s life, his vast knowledge of various languages and literature, his self-authored books in Odia, and his immense contribution to the field of education.
Others present included Ranjita Panigrahi, Sarasibala Jena, Lalit Mandhya, Damana Bhatra, and Akhil Kumar Sahu. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ranjita Panigrahi.
All the teachers, teaching staff, and other employees of the school actively cooperated to make the event a success. The message conveyed was that Rajarsi Vikram Dev Varma’s biography would surely inspire and guide the students in shaping their future.
