Kotpad: The National Panchayati Raj Day was celebrated at the Panchayat Samiti Office of Kotpad Block under the chairmanship of Kotpad Block Chairperson Kamala Bhitara and in the presence and direct supervision of Group Development Officer Bikram Kumar Dora.
The meeting began with an inaugural address by Block P.E.O. Sudhanshu Shekhar. Subsequently, the Group Development Officer elaborately discussed all the ongoing public welfare schemes in all Gram Panchayats under the Kotpad Panchayat Samiti, such as the Subhadra Scheme, PM-Kisan, Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme, and the Solar Home Scheme, through the BDO portal.
The program commenced with the singing of the Utkala Song. A two-minute silent prayer was also held for the souls of the 26 individuals who lost their lives and the many others injured during a terrorist attack at the tourist site of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as for the departed souls from Odisha, other parts of India, and abroad.
On this occasion, new ration cards and pension documents were distributed to beneficiaries from various panchayats of Kotpad Block.
Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhattara attended as the chief guest. Distinguished guests included MP representative Rameshwar Jena, MLA representative Binayak Acharya, and many officials and staff.
In celebration of Panchayati Raj Day at Kotpad Block, present were Block Chairperson Kamala Bhitara, Vice-Chairperson Tapan Panigrahi, Zilla Parishad members Tripati Chalan and Geeta Majhi, all Samiti members, all Sarpanches, Supply Department Officer Ashish Das, Supply Assistant Prashant Panda, all block office employees, and general public beneficiaries from all panchayats.
