Koraput: Lieutenant Subhashish Rath, the pride of undivided Koraput district, has successfully graduated from the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. He was the only Odia candidate in his batch to participate in the Passing Out Parade at OTA.
As per the Passing Out training tradition, his father, Patitapaban Rath, and mother, Pushpalata Rath, adorned him with the rank insignia. He has received widespread congratulations from various quarters for this achievement.
A resident of Bhavaninagar, Koraput, Subhashish is the son of businessman Patitapaban Rath and teacher Pushpalata Rath. A year ago, he cleared the NCC Special Entry Examination to join the Indian Army. Out of 40 candidates selected across India, he was the only one from Odisha. He secured the 19th rank in the merit list.
At just 21 years old, Subhashish has become a Lieutenant. Prominent figures such as Lieutenant General Narayan Mohanty and Brigadier Sanjay Mahanti have extended their best wishes to him. They have described his achievement as an inspiration for the youth.
During the Passing Out Parade, his parents, aunt Santoshini Barik, and senior journalist Dillip Mohanty were present to congratulate him.
