Jeypore Girls Shine in Puri with Stellar Odissi Performances

Jeypore: Two girls from Jeypore were honored in Puri for their Odissi dance performances. The event was held at the Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, where Sumedha Mishra (13), daughter of Ashok Mishra and Sunita Mishra of Jeyporer and a student of St. Xavier’s School, participated in an Odissi dance competition and secured second place.

Similarly, Arpita Tripathy (12), daughter of Ramakanta Tripathy and Mamata Tripathy and a student of Vigyan International School, performed in the Odisha Festival. Over 100 participants from across Odisha competed in the junior category.

Both talented Odissi dancers from Jeypore, Sumedha and Arpita, were awarded and encouraged by guests present at the event, including Guru Gajendra Panda. They are learning Odissi dance under the guidance of Guru Veerakishore Nayak. Following their success, the girls have received congratulatory messages and warm wishes from many quarters.

By performing at the Odisha Festival and participating in the competition, they have brought pride and recognition to the city of Jaipur.
