Nabarangpur, 27th Sept 2025: As per the directive of the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Odisha, an inter-district exposure visit under the Ambika Yojana was organized for adolescent girls from Nabarangpur district. Through this initiative facilitated by the District Social Welfare Office, 33 adolescent girls aged between 14 and 18 years traveled to Bhubaneswar, the state capital, for a 6-day exposure visit.
Upon arrival in the capital, the girls were warmly welcomed by the District Collector, Shri Maheshwar Pujari; Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapal Tumra Guntia; Nabarangpur MLA; officials from the WCD (Women & Child Development) Department; District Information and Public Relations Officer; and the District Social Welfare Officer.
Also present to guide and accompany the girls during their journey were officials from the District Hub for Women Empowerment (DHEW), including Ms. Sarmistha Patra, Ms. Pratibha Kumari Das, Ms. Sumita Raj Mitran Graham, and several Anganwadi workers who supported the girls throughout the trip.
During their visit to Bhubaneswar, the adolescent girls explored key institutions such as the World Skill Centre, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), and various government departments. The aim of this exposure trip was to ignite interest and aspiration among the girls by introducing them to centers of excellence, skill development opportunities, and potential career pathways.
