Innovative Step by Malkangiri District Administration: Free Summer Coaching Launched for +2 Science Students to Boost Academic Excellence

Malkangiri, April. 30: In a significant initiative to help meritorious students achieve their dreams, the Malkangiri district administration has launched a special free summer coaching program for +2 science aspirants.
Under the guidance of District Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajshirkhe, a dedicated summer course has been introduced for science students. The program is being managed by a team led by Additional District Magistrate Somanath Pradhan, along with District Education Officer Chittaranjan Panigrahi, District Welfare Officer Srinivas Achari, District Science Inspector Jagannath Prasad Behera, and principals and headmasters of government higher secondary schools in Malkangiri.
The course began on April 5, 2026, and students who have appeared for the HSE examination from various schools have been invited to participate. A large number of students are attending this integrated coaching program to build confidence for competitive exams like NEET and JEE.
The program provides early exposure to +2 science syllabus along with guidance on solving problems and questions related to NEET and JEE. Since Malkangiri is a tribal-dominated district, many parents are farmers and cannot afford expensive private education or send their children to bigger cities like Brahmapur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, or Rourkela. As a result, many talented students are unable to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, or scientific fields.
Keeping this situation in mind, the district administration has taken this step to support students in fulfilling their aspirations. Students are also being informed about the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship Scheme under the post-matric scholarship program, which enables them to pursue higher education in medical, engineering, and science streams without financial burden on their families.
Experienced teachers and lecturers are providing coaching voluntarily without any remuneration. The administration has expressed gratitude to educators like Padmanabha, Ashok Kumar Swarnakar, Nalini Patra, Sarojini Sahu, and their teams for their dedicated efforts.
Parents have widely appreciated this initiative, while the District Education Officer and heads of various government schools are working tirelessly to ensure the success of this program.
