Tentulikhunti:April. 25: The Indravati dam area in Nabarangpur district is set to be developed into a major tourist destination. The project is likely to be implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which is expected to open up new employment opportunities for local residents.
Nabarangpur MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi visited the site along with a two-member central team to review the situation and explore development prospects.
The team included NRI and property investment advisor Sweta Mohanty and Director of Society of Heart and Public Health Bibhutibhushan Pattnaik. They inspected various locations including the reservoir area, Juhuguda ghat, and nearby dam surroundings to assess tourism potential.
Local officials and leaders, including the Block Development Officer and several public representatives, were also present during the visit.
According to the MLA, discussions were held on developing tourism infrastructure in and around the reservoir under the PPP model. A project worth around ₹200 crore is being planned, and after the central team’s assessment, it is expected to move forward toward implementation.
