Bhubaneswar, July 6 (UDN): Odisha Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra is set to launch development projects worth more than ₹74 crore across 37 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state on Monday as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve civic amenities.

The projects, to be inaugurated and have their foundation stones laid virtually, cover a wide range of urban infrastructure initiatives, including road development, drainage systems, drinking water supply, sanitation, public amenities, parks, community infrastructure and other civic improvement works.

According to the Housing and Urban Development Department, the initiatives are aimed at enhancing the quality of urban services and accelerating infrastructure development in municipalities and notified area councils across Odisha.

The projects form part of the State Government’s broader urban development agenda, focusing on sustainable infrastructure, improved public services and better living standards for urban residents. Officials said the investments are expected to boost civic infrastructure while creating employment opportunities during the execution phase.

The Minister is also expected to interact with officials of the concerned Urban Local Bodies and review the progress of ongoing developmental works, stressing timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

The H&UD Department reiterated its commitment to ensuring balanced urban growth and strengthening civic infrastructure across all regions of the state through sustained public investment and effective implementation of development programmes.
