Kotpad:Sept 26 [UDN}: Floodwaters have entered several villages in the Kotpad block of Koraput district, triggering evacuation efforts in low-lying areas.
The Asana and Bania areas under Guali Gram Panchayat have been particularly affected, with floodwater entering residential areas and creating difficult conditions for local residents.
Following the situation, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, along with the Kotpad administration, reached the affected villages and supervised the evacuation operation. Residents were moved to safer locations and flood shelters as a precautionary measure.
In a hands-on response, the MLA himself remained at the spot and assisted in shifting people to safety using tractors and pickup vans. The evacuation was carried out with the objective of ensuring that residents from the inundated areas reached the designated flood shelters safely.
The administration is continuing relief and evacuation efforts in the affected areas as the flood situation remains a concern.
