Jeypore: On Friday, the 4th of July, the Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express and Jagdalpur–Rourkela Intercity Express have been cancelled. However, the Visakhapatnam–Kirandul–Visakhapatnam up/down passenger trains will operate from Araku (Andhra Pradesh). Additionally, the Jagdalpur–Puri–Jagdalpur Rath Yatra special trains, along with three other express trains, will operate up to Koraput only.
Due to landslides on the Kotabalsa–Kirandul (KK) Line, the East Coast Railway has taken this step. Train movement between Koraput and Jagdalpur has also been suspended. The Waltair Division has urged passengers to take necessary precautions.
On the afternoon of July 2, mud and rocks from surrounding hills fell onto the track between Maliguda and Jarti stations. Since restoration work is still ongoing, regular train services have been disrupted. Keeping this in view, the railway department has cancelled or partially modified train operations from alternate stations.
