First Meeting of Malkangiri Block Primary Teachers’ Association Held with Focus on Education and Welfare Issues

Malkangiri, April 15:  The first meeting of the Malkangiri Block Primary Teachers’ Association was held at the District Primary Teachers’ भवन under the अध्यक्षता of President Ram Prasad Padhi.
Secretary Manoj Sethi presented the report, while Ganesh Chandra Jena performed a devotional song. As the chief guest, State Association Vice-President Ranjit Nayak attended the meeting and spoke about strengthening the organization.
All members expressed their views that the association would be further strengthened in the coming days to raise a strong voice for the legitimate demands of teachers. It was also decided that, instead of holding meetings only at the block headquarters, zonal-level meetings would be organized to include all teachers.
Various issues of the block were discussed, with census duty being a major concern. Some teachers assigned to census work have been directed to cover villages located 30–40 km away instead of areas near their schools. In some schools, all teachers have been engaged in staff-related duties, which was strongly opposed as a departmental lapse.
It was decided to immediately discuss these issues with the concerned authorities and seek a resolution.
Teachers including Manoranjan Behera, Usharani Ray, Sapan Mandal, Santosh Pradhan, Saroj Sahu, Shridhar Sahu, Kuni Durka, Sukhi Kunj, Mamata Mahal, Khageswar Rout, Ganesh Patra, Gyana Swain, Anila Sahu, Binay Swain, Prashant Sethi, Pabitra Kharai, and Umakanta Muduli were present.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Jitendra Tripathy.
