Kotpad 3rd February 2025 A family was visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela when they found a long-lost relative. This is not a movie story but a real-life incident that happened at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. A woman from Jharkhand, who had been separated from her husband 27 years ago in Dhanbad, found him at the fair—as an Aghori Sadhu.
How It Happened
According to reports, a family from Jharkhand went to visit the Kumbh Mela. While they were exploring the fair, they came across a Naga Sadhu who looked just like Gangasagar, a family member who had been missing for 27 years. Out of curiosity, they took some photos of the sadhu and sent them back home.
Upon receiving the photos, Dhanwa Devi, the wife of the missing man, recognized him immediately. She identified him by a mark on his forehead and a scar on his knee, confirming that the Aghori Sadhu was indeed her husband, Gangasagar.
Following this discovery, Dhanwa Devi, along with her sons Kamlesh and Bimlesh and Gangasagar’s brother Murali Yadav, traveled to the Kumbh Mela to find him.
The Shocking Encounter
When they finally met Gangasagar, now 65 years old and known as Baba Rajkumar, he refused to acknowledge his past identity. He denied knowing any Gangasagar Yadav and said he had come from Varanasi.
Despite their emotional pleas, Gangasagar refused to recognize his family. Feeling helpless, his relatives approached the Kumbh Mela police, demanding a DNA test to confirm his identity. Dhanwa Devi broke down in tears, pleading for government help to bring her husband back.
How He Went Missing
27 years ago, during his cousin’s wedding, Gangasagar had gone to the market to buy a saree but never returned home. His family searched for him for years but found no clues. Now, after all this time, they had unexpectedly found him at the Kumbh Mela.
What Happens Next?
The family remains hopeful that DNA testing will reveal the truth. Some relatives have returned home, but a few are still staying at the Kumbh Mela to keep an eye on Gangasagar.
