Kodinga: A road safety awareness event was recently held in Kodiga, located in the Kosagumuda Block of Nabarangpur District. The program emphasized the importance of road safety as a means of saving lives.
The campaign promoted the following key messages:
“Road safety is life safety”,
“Speed leads to disaster”,
“Wear a helmet and be aware of your precious life”,
“No more than two persons on two-wheelers”,
“Always wear seat belts in four-wheelers”,
“Carry necessary vehicle documents”,
“Ensure headlights are always functional”,
“Do not drink alcohol or use mobile phones while driving”,
“Maintain at least 25 feet distance from the vehicle in front”,
“Do not overspeed beyond 40 km/h”,
“Be alert around cows, children, or mentally ill persons on the road”.
The message was also clear that if two persons are riding a two-wheeler, both must wear helmets, emphasizing that life is the most valuable asset, and everyone must stay aware and live a joyful life with their families.
As part of the awareness drive, Mr. Chakradhar Maharana, the chief representative from EIC, Bhubaneswar, came to Kosagumuda and personally gifted flowers and helmets to many drivers. He advised them to wear helmets and seat belts and encouraged everyone to live a safe and happy life with their families.
