Bhubaneswar: The price of eggs supplied to Anganwadi centers has been increased. Keeping children’s nutrition in mind, the government has decided to raise the price of eggs from Rs5 to Rs7. Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi through social media platform ‘X’ for this decision. She also informed that the state government will spend an additional Rs ₹175.14 crore annually for this purpose.

It is noteworthy that in the past few months, egg prices in the market have increased, causing difficulties for Anganwadi centers in providing eggs to children. There was a growing demand for raising the egg price allocation, which the government has now addressed by increasing the rate.
