Papadahandi,On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, the District Legal Service Authority of Nabarangpur organized a legal awareness camp for workers at the Papadahandi Panchayat Samiti meeting hall. The event was conducted under the direction of District Legal Service Authority Coordinator Subrata Mahanti. The camp aimed to educate workers about their rights and various legal provisions.
The event was attended by prominent figures including the District Legal Service Authority Secretary, Mrs. Sai Abhipsa Gochhayat, who was the main speaker. She discussed the various legal aids available to workers, including minimum wage laws, industrial dispute resolution, factory laws, and the schemes provided by central and state governments for workers.
In addition, Block Development Officer Sri Sushant Kumar Behera, Cooperative Labor Officer Sri Sangram Bhuyan, Block Social Security Officer Sri Subrata Kishan, and legal aid advisors shared their insights with the workers. They highlighted various government schemes and legal assistance available for unorganized workers.
At the conclusion of the event, the Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority, Mrs. Sai Abhipsa Gochhayat, along with Sri Sushant Behera, distributed labor cards and assistance packages. In total, 30 unorganized workers received identification cards, 7 workers received ₹14,00,000 for support related to funeral expenses, 3 workers received ₹15,000 for last rites, 10 workers were given ₹5,00,000 as marriage assistance, 3 mothers were provided ₹30,000 in maternity benefits, and 7 workers received ₹35,000 in education assistance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Sri Raj Kishore Rao, a legal advisor. The program was successfully organized and conducted by the District Legal Service Authority of Nabarangpur.”
