District Collector Reviews Ongoing Development Projects at Tulasi Hill, Malkangiri

Malkangiri: District Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil and District Superintendent of Police Vinod Patil visited Tulasi Hill area, located under Temurupali Panchayat in Mathili Block of Malkangiri district. During their visit, they reviewed various ongoing government development projects in the region.

This area, once considered a Maoist stronghold where extremists used to gather and strategize, has now seen significant transformation. Today, the Collector and SP, along with several other high-ranking district officials, reached the location — a symbolic victory, showing that Maoist dominance has been broken and government-led development has reached the once-inaccessible region.

Development is now progressing rapidly, and the local population is beginning to live in peace. Tulasi Hill, predominantly inhabited by tribals, includes villages like Tulasi, Kerameti, Maria Beda, and Cheru Katla. The Collector and SP spent time interacting with young children, distributing chocolates and lollipops, and reviewing various development activities underway in the region.

They also visited the camps of residents living on the hill and evaluated the rapid construction of the connecting road to Tulasi Hill. Additionally, they emphasized the urgent construction of Anganwadi centers, school buildings, and providing houses to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, as well as ensuring safe drinking water supply and the effective implementation of all government welfare schemes.

The Collector instructed senior district officials to ensure the timely delivery of these services and projects. During this field visit, present were:

Mathili Tahsildar and BDO Pramod Kumar Behera,

Mathili Block Executive Engineer Hriday Ranjan Bagh,

APO A. Lingaraj Karakaria,

Sarpanch Tumbeshwar Samartha,

and many senior district officials. The area was secured by BSF personnel during the visit.
