Jeypore, 12th Nov 2025: World Savings Day was celebrated at the Skill Development Center in Koraput. The event highlighted the importance of saving, especially for managing daily and future needs.
The program emphasized that saving should be considered a crucial part of life. The guest of honor, Koraput Additional District Collector Tapan Kumar Nayak, stated that saving even a small portion of income is essential for meeting future requirements.
During the event, examples were given comparing Jhintiika and Pimpudi: On a dry day, Jhintiika can manage with its stored food, while Pimpudi, which relies on rainy days, struggles if food is not saved. On rainy days, Pimpudi uses stored food, while Jhintiika may have to go hungry. This example stressed the necessity of saving for unforeseen circumstances.
A quiz on savings was conducted, and meritorious students were awarded certificates and cash prizes.
