Jharsuguda: May 29: A major nationwide tribal welfare initiative, the “Dharati Aaba–Janajati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan 2026”, jointly organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and the Scheduled Tribe & Scheduled Caste Development Department of the Odisha Government, concluded successfully in Jharsuguda district.
The campaign, launched under the theme “Public Participation First, Reaching the Farthest Communities First,” was implemented across the district from May 18 to May 25. The initiative aimed to ensure that government services and welfare schemes directly reached tribal communities living in remote villages.
To share details about the successful implementation of the campaign, a press conference was held today at the District Collector’s Office in Jharsuguda. Additional District Magistrate Brajabandhu Bhoi and ITDA Project Administrator Sanjeeb Patel addressed media representatives and provided detailed information regarding the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, ADM Brajabandhu Bhoi stated that the administration directly reached tribal communities to promote awareness, education, communication, and overall socio-economic development. He informed that the primary objective of the campaign was to provide complete access to government welfare benefits and healthcare services to beneficiaries in 77 tribal-dominated villages of the district.
During the week-long campaign, special service camps were organized in 25 major villages across the district. Additionally, grievance redressal programmes were successfully conducted through 11 Aadhaar Seva Kendras in rural areas to resolve various public issues faced by local residents.
Under this initiative, eligible tribal beneficiaries received essential services and documents including:
Aadhaar Cards
Ration Cards
Ayushman Bharat benefits
Caste Certificates
Health check-up services
Other important government welfare facilities
Officials stated that the campaign played a significant role in integrating tribal communities into the mainstream of development while accelerating progress in remote and marginalized villages of Jharsuguda district.
During the concluding ceremony of the campaign, media representatives and officials discussed the effective implementation and impact of the programme. The district administration also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and media personnel for helping spread awareness about the government’s welfare initiatives among the people.
