The State Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, participated as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the workshop.
In the coming days, to prevent cyber crimes, workshops on “Cyber Crime Investigation” will be organized across all ranges and districts of the state. The DGP expressed that this workshop will be particularly helpful in enhancing the officers’ abilities to conduct proper cyber crime investigations and improve their skills in a short time.
To combat invisible criminals through the use of technology and scientific methods, it is very important for the police to continuously improve their skills and undergo training. Keeping this in mind, the DGP emphasized organizing workshops throughout the state.
With the advancement of technology, interference by cyber criminals in our daily lives has increased. Online investment frauds, financial scams, identity theft of common people, digital arrests, exploitation of children and elderly persons are on the rise. To prevent such crimes, the state police are running extensive campaigns. Accordingly, the state government has approved the opening of 20 new cyber crime and economic offence police stations across the state. These stations will play a leading role in preventing cyber crimes, said the DGP with hope.
Additionally, the state government has decided to establish an Odisha Cyber Command Center in Bhubaneswar, said the DGP. This center will play a crucial role in controlling cyber crimes, identifying culprits, and providing immediate assistance to victims.
To fight cyber crimes, there is a need to strengthen knowledge, skills, and investigative techniques and properly apply them in the field. The DGP gave this advice to the officers participating in the workshop.
With renewed confidence and skills, the DGP called upon the officers to fight cyber crimes and serve the people of Odisha.
