Bhubaneswar, July 6 {UDN}:   Water levels in the Mahanadi, Vamsadhara, and Baitarani rivers are rising steadily following continuous rainfall across Odisha. The inflow into the Hirakud Dam has nearly doubled over the last 24 hours, raising concerns over the flood situation in downstream areas.

The state government and the Water Resources Department are closely monitoring river levels and reservoir inflows. Officials have urged residents living in low-lying and riverbank areas to remain alert and follow advisories issued by local authorities. Disaster response teams have been kept on standby as a precautionary measure. Further rainfall is expected in several parts of the state, which could lead to additional increases in river water levels.
