Compensation Distribution Program Held for Land Acquisition Affected Families under Nabarangpur–Jeypore Railway Project to Ensure Fair Rehabilitation

Nabarangpur, May 6: A compensation distribution program for land acquisition related to the Nabarangpur–Jeypore railway project was held at the office of the local Tahasildar in Nabarangpur.
On this occasion, Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi attended as the chief guest and distributed compensation cheques amounting to rs70,48,26,663 to 14 landowners whose land was acquired for the project.

Tahasildar Bhuleshwar Naik welcomed the guests and conducted the program.
For this railway project, 29.215 acres of land have been acquired from Kesriguda mouza under Nabarangpur Tahasil. On this occasion, the chief guest also distributed Basundhara land pattas to 20 beneficiaries from Kesriguda village.
In his address, the MP stated that this railway project will fulfill a long-standing demand and dream of the people of Nabarangpur district, and construction work is expected to begin soon.
It is worth noting that the proposed Junagarh–Nabarangpur, Nabarangpur–Jeypore, and Malkangiri–Bhadrachalam railway lines, covering a total of 460 km, constitute the second-largest railway project in independent India.
The event was attended by beneficiaries who received compensation, MP’s representative Jyoti Ranjan Kans, DIPRO Manoj S. Behera, Executive Officer Ashok Karna, along with intellectuals, local residents, media representatives, and Tahasil office staff.
