Sunabeda, June 22 {UDN}: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized on Tuesday at the premises of the 909 COBRA Battalion in Sunabeda, Koraput district, to mark World Blood Donor Day.
The camp was inaugurated by Senior Commandant Amit Kumar. Among those present were Commandant Raju Kumar, Deputy Commandant Dr. Sheikh Imran, Dr. Pranati, FBDO State Executive President Dr. Naresh Chandra, Pradeep Kumar Sahu, District President Pradeep Tripathy, and Vice-President Jaya Badatya.
The blood collection drive was conducted under the supervision of Dr. M.S. Baliarsingh of the Shaheed Laxman Nayak Blood Centre and Pradeep Kumar Tripathy of the Odisha Blood Donors Federation. The blood collection team included Ranjit Sahu, Geeta Parida, and Sanjay C. Singh.
A total of 26 units of blood were collected from voluntary donors during the camp. The organizers highlighted the importance of blood donation in saving lives and encouraged more people to participate in such humanitarian initiatives in the future.
The event reflected the commitment of the 909 COBRA Battalion and local health organizations toward promoting social responsibility and ensuring the availability of blood for patients in need.
