Chief Minister to Conduct Extensive Aerial Survey of Flood-Hit Areas, Review the Ground Situation Across Four Worst-Affected Districts

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 3 [UDN}:  In view of the worsening flood situation caused by continuous heavy rainfall and the release of excess water into major rivers, the Chief Minister will undertake an extensive aerial survey to assess the extent of flooding and the damage caused in four severely affected districts. The aerial inspection is aimed at obtaining a comprehensive, real-time overview of inundated villages, damaged infrastructure, river conditions, and the effectiveness of ongoing rescue and relief operations.
During the helicopter survey, the Chief Minister will closely examine the flood-hit regions from the air to evaluate the impact on residential areas, agricultural land, roads, bridges, embankments, and other public infrastructure. The aerial assessment will also help identify isolated villages, waterlogged zones, and areas where emergency assistance is urgently required.
The Chief Minister is expected to interact with senior district officials, disaster management authorities, and other concerned departments after the survey to review the ground situation. Based on the findings, necessary instructions may be issued to strengthen rescue efforts, accelerate relief distribution, ensure the availability of essential supplies, and speed up rehabilitation measures for affected families.
The government has reiterated its commitment to providing all possible assistance to flood-affected people and has assured that no effort will be spared in protecting lives, restoring normalcy, and ensuring timely compensation and rehabilitation in the affected districts. The aerial survey is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the state’s immediate response and long-term recovery efforts.
