BJD Launches Van Mahotsav Celebration in Brahmapur to Promote Green Initiatives

Brahmapur: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) officially launched the Van Mahotsav (Forest Festival) celebration from July 1st to July 7th. The inauguration ceremony was held under the guidance of former Cashew Corporation Chairman Subash Chandra Maharana at Lane No. 10 in Gandhi Nagar, where a tree plantation drive was conducted.

Around 50 saplings of various species including Radhachuda (Plumeria), Krushnachuda (Gulmohar), Neem, and Baula (Aegle marmelos) were planted. Slogans highlighting the importance of trees were also displayed at the event.

Ganjam district BJD president Dr. Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik, former minister Chandrasekhar Sahu, former MLA Bikram Kumar Panda, and Mayor Sanghamitra Dalei attended the event as chief guests. They emphasized the benefits of tree plantation and advised that each individual should plant at least two trees.
