Jeypore: The organization “Bipadara Bandhu Odisha” has extended a helping hand to Padmini Khara, a meritorious student from Maribaiguda in Lakshmipur block of Koraput district. After learning about her through a news report published in Prameya, the organization’s independent wing “Mu Bi School Jibi” has provided her with financial assistance of ₹30,000.
Padmini has qualified to pursue a B.Ed. degree from Utkal University, and this financial support will help her during the admission process. She has also expressed her aspiration to prepare for the IAS in the future. The organization has assured that all necessary support will be provided to her in the coming days.
Padmini is the daughter of Chitrasen Khara and Sanjukta Khara of Maribaiguda. Her father has been bedridden for the past three years due to a brain stroke. Her mother works as a Krushi Mitra under the Odisha Livelihood Mission. The family of four is surviving with great difficulty on a meager income.
Despite these hardships, Padmini passed her Class 10 board exams with 95% and secured 94% marks in +2 Arts through her dedication and hard work. She was distressed that financial constraints might prevent her from continuing higher education. On May 27, a news article titled “A Meritorious Poor Student’s Plea to the Administration” was published in Prameya, highlighting her situation.
