July 6 (UDN): The rail connectivity between Odisha and Gujarat has been significantly strengthened with the announcement that the Amrit Bharat Express operating between Berhampur and Surat will now run on a daily basis.
Previously operating three days a week, the service has been upgraded to daily operations in response to increasing passenger demand. The decision is expected to provide greater convenience for commuters, particularly migrant workers, traders, and families travelling between eastern and western India.
Officials stated that the enhanced frequency will ease travel constraints, improve accessibility, and strengthen economic, social, and cultural ties between the two states. The move is also expected to reduce congestion on alternative routes and improve overall passenger flow on long-distance corridors.
Authorities have advised passengers to check updated train schedules and booking details as the revised daily service comes into effect. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to expand and modernize railway connectivity across key regions of the country.
