Advocate Academy to Be Established Soon in Cuttack to Strengthen Legal Education and Professional Training

Cuttack, May 09:At the Madhu Jayanti and Lawyers’ Day celebration organised by the High Court Bar Association in Cuttack, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced that an Advocate Academy will soon be established in the city.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event held at Sahid Bhavan, the Minister also informed that the Advocates’ Welfare Fund would be increased from ₹10 crore to ₹15 crore. He further stated that discussions are underway with the Health and Finance Departments regarding a health insurance scheme for advocates.
Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra attended the programme as the guest of honour, while Advocate General Pitambar Acharya delivered the keynote address.
High Court Bar Association President Lalatendu Samantaray delivered the welcome speech, and Secretary Hrudananda Mahapatra introduced the guests.
During the programme, the Association leaders drew the Law Minister’s attention to several demands, including enactment of a law for advocates’ protection, establishment of the Advocate Academy, enhancement of the welfare fund, stipend support for junior lawyers, and other welfare measures.
Several office bearers of the High Court Bar Association and hundreds of advocates were present at the event.
