Nandapur, Jan, 03: A district-level joint public grievance hearing camp was held on Monday at the meeting hall of the Nandapur Block Office in Koraput district. The programme was attended by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Bhaktabandhu Janardan Dalai, Sub-Collector Premalal Hial, DPHO Debadatta Mallik, Block Chairperson Sabitri Karbhul, Nandapur BDO Durgaprasad Dora, SDPO Debendra Mallik, Additional Tahsildar Madhab Pangi, and other district- and block-level departmental officers.
During the grievance hearing, residents of the block submitted complaints related to various developmental issues, including construction of an indoor stadium at the Nandapur block headquarters, setting up a dumping yard for waste disposal, expediting development work at Batris Singhasan and Muktiamb Gufa, removal of encroachments at tourist sites and identification of land for development, construction of a road to revenue village Kaudikhal, construction of a new Panchayat office as the existing Panthalung Panchayat office is in a dilapidated condition, repair or construction of Anganwadi centres at Tankel, Pachalung, and Kathua, construction of roads from Hatguda to Kathua and from Jayantagiri to Mariput, and provision of allowances to caregivers of disabled, helpless, and mentally ill persons.
Altogether, 24 complaints were registered, including 22 group complaints and 2 individual complaints. After reviewing the grievances, ADM Dalai directed the concerned departmental officers to take appropriate action.
It was also stated that notices would be issued to the concerned officials regarding issues such as denial of old-age pension, pending health centre repair work, and lapses by line departments, as informed by Assistant Engineer Bismita Nayak, BPC Pramod Khol, and PEO Dambaru Pujari.
During the camp, officials were seen patiently listening to and addressing the grievances raised by the public.
