Bhubaneswar, Aug 1 (UDN): Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has called for stronger collaboration between the Army Air Defence College (AADC), Gopalpur, and educational institutions across the state to promote defence research, innovation, and skill development.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at Lok Bhawan, the Governor discussed proposals from the Army Air Defence College and highlighted the importance of building closer connections between the armed forces and academic institutions to create new opportunities for students and researchers.
Dr Kambhampati suggested facilitating visits by engineering students from colleges across Odisha to the advanced laboratories of AADC. He said such exposure would help students understand emerging defence technologies, research activities, and innovation practices while encouraging greater interest in careers related to defence and technology.
Recognising the Army Air Defence College as one of India’s leading defence training institutions, the Governor appreciated its contribution to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities through training, research, and technological advancement.
The meeting also explored ways to develop long-term partnerships between AADC and educational institutions in Odisha. Discussions included initiatives related to research collaboration, green campus development, electric mobility within military stations, and the use of light electric ambulances for healthcare support.
The Governor emphasised that stronger coordination between the Army Air Defence College, state government, and district administration can help accelerate development initiatives while promoting innovation and knowledge exchange.
The proposed collaboration is expected to create a platform where academic talent and defence expertise come together, supporting India’s vision of technological growth, self-reliance, and a stronger defence ecosystem.
