Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 (UDN): The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, conducted a one-day orientation programme for the heads of 71 newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary Schools, focusing on academic planning, school administration and key operational procedures.
The programme was held at the conference hall of B.J.B. Higher Secondary School, Bhubaneswar, for Head Masters-cum-Principals-in-Charge of the newly upgraded institutions.
Focus On School Administration
The orientation aimed to familiarise the school heads with procedures and responsibilities associated with higher secondary education.
Key areas discussed included the online admission process, engagement of guest faculty, academic activities and other administrative functions required for the smooth operation of the upgraded schools.
Emphasis On Academic Leadership
DHSE Director Niyati Pattnaik stressed the importance of effective leadership in creating a positive academic environment.
She said the newly upgraded schools should focus on providing students with quality education, proper guidance and an environment conducive to learning.
Joint Director Sasmita Mali highlighted the need for strict adherence to prescribed procedures and effective coordination between school authorities and the Directorate.
Deputy Director C.H. Vijayalaxmi emphasised the importance of systematic academic planning and efficient institutional management.
Strengthening Newly Upgraded Institutions
The orientation programme is part of DHSE’s efforts to ensure that newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary Schools are adequately prepared to handle the academic and administrative responsibilities associated with higher secondary education.
The Directorate also stressed the importance of coordination among school heads and officials to ensure effective implementation of policies and smooth functioning of the institutions.
