Malkangiri, Aug 5 (UDN): The Malkangiri district administration has launched online computer coaching classes for tribal students studying in government SSD high schools and the Kalinga Model Residential School at Balimela, aiming to improve digital access and prepare students for future educational and career opportunities.

The initiative is designed to bridge the digital gap faced by students in remote and inaccessible tribal areas by providing them with essential computer knowledge and exposure to technology-based learning.
More than 100 students from Chitrakonda, Panasput, and Nandiniguda participated in the first online session. The classes will be conducted every Tuesday and Friday from 3 pm to 4 pm, allowing students to access structured computer education without having to travel long distances for training.
To provide specialised guidance, the district administration has appointed an IT engineer from Maharashtra as the chief trainer for the programme. The sessions will focus on improving computer literacy, developing practical digital skills, and familiarising students with modern technology tools and applications.
The initiative is expected to help tribal students gain confidence in using digital platforms, support their academic growth, and improve their readiness for higher education and employment opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Malkangiri administration said the programme reflects its commitment to ensuring that students from remote communities have equal access to digital education and the skills needed to participate in India’s growing digital economy.
By bringing technology-based learning closer to tribal students, the initiative aims to create new opportunities and empower young learners to build a stronger future.
