Young Social Worker Passes Away, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Service, Compassion and Dedication to Society

Umarkote, May 11: Retired Navy personnel and young social worker G. Gold Smith (36) of Umarkote passed away today due to a heart attack. News of his demise cast a shadow of grief across the town. According to family sources, his last rites will be performed on Saturday after his mortal remains are brought from Visakhapatnam.
After retiring from the Indian Navy, Smith returned to his hometown at DNK in Umarkote and dedicated himself to guiding local youth on how to secure recruitment in the armed forces. By providing free training to youngsters, he earned recognition as a respected social worker in the district.
His dream of doing something meaningful for his native soil kept him connected to the region. To help educated youth from remote areas join national service, he had built a modern swimming pool at his own expense and regularly trained candidates both physically and mentally for recruitment into the armed forces.
Many youths trained under him have successfully secured jobs. Due to his remarkable contribution to social service, he became highly admired among local residents.
A few days ago, his health suddenly deteriorated, and he was admitted to a hospital in Visakhapatnam. While undergoing treatment there, he suffered a heart attack and passed away today. At the time of his demise, his brother-in-law, wife, and another relative were by his side.
