Bhubaneswar, May 22: At the zonal conference held in Bhubaneswar, the exhibition of various improved and hybrid varieties of mangoes from different parts of our state, and their high appreciation at the national level, is a matter of great pride for all of us. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all the hardworking farmer brothers and sisters and agricultural entrepreneurs of Odisha for this achievement.
The attractive ‘Similtan Sundari’ from Mayurbhanj, ‘Baladev’ from Keonjhar, ‘Jahangir’ from Balangir, and ‘Belagaja’ from Dhenkanal, along with the world-famous ‘Miyazaki’ and other superior mango varieties, are a testament to the skill and dedication of our farmers. It is especially pleasing that recently the ‘Amrapali’ mango from Dhenkanal has been exported to the London market, bringing us pride. Due to the tireless efforts of our farmers, the use of appropriate technology, and proper coordination of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Odisha’s mangoes have now created a distinct identity in both national and international markets.
Our state’s farmers are the true strength of our economy. The government remains ever committed to farmers’ development, providing them with modern technological knowledge, ensuring fair prices for their produce, and promoting the overall growth of horticulture. I firmly believe that this success in the agricultural sector will play a major role in building a prosperous Odisha in the coming days.
