National Panchayati Raj Day Celebrated by Jharigaon Panchayat Samiti with Active Participation of Local Representatives and Community Members

Jharigaon, April 29: On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, the day was observed at the Jharigaon Panchayat Samiti office premises under the supervision of Block Development Officer Madhusudan Majhi.
At around 7 PM, the inaugural address of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi from the state-level program held in Balangir was telecast live through video conferencing.
Distinguished guests present included MP’s representative Chandrabhanu Nayak, MLA’s representative Ganapati Sahu, and social worker Prafulla Pradhani. Block-level departmental officers, Panchayat representatives, and women members of the Odisha Livelihood Mission also attended the event.
During the program, emphasis was laid on accelerating development works in rural areas, especially in villages lacking basic amenities such as education, healthcare, transportation, electricity, and drinking water. Focus was also given to sectors like agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal resources, afforestation, soil conservation, integrated child development, and industrial growth. Implementation of welfare schemes such as housing under Antyodaya Yojana and pensions for widows, differently-abled persons, and the elderly was also highlighted.
In his message, the Chief Minister urged effective grassroots-level implementation of development programs and stressed that it is everyone’s moral responsibility to ensure that government welfare schemes reach the people.
MP’s representative Chandrabhanu Nayak also advised concerned officials to take responsibility for addressing issues in underdeveloped areas under the Panchayat Samiti.
On the occasion, blocks and Panchayats that performed well in various sectors were honored and awarded at the state level.
Hundreds of people from different areas participated in the program organized by the block administration.
