Mass Cleanliness Drive Launched in Malkangiri as Administration and Public Join Hands to Revamp Key Tourist Spots

Malkangiri, April 14:  On the occasion of Swachh Odisha Diwas, a large-scale cleanliness drive was carried out across various parts of Malkangiri district.
The campaign was organized under the direction of District Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajshirkhe, focusing on cleaning major tourist and religious sites of the district. On this occasion, the Collector stated that tourist spots and heritage sites represent the identity of the district, and keeping them clean not only protects the environment but also creates a healthy legacy for future generations.
He further emphasized that maintaining cleanliness and beauty of the district is a collective responsibility and urged everyone to work together to make Malkangiri a clean and beautiful district.
As part of the drive:
Cleaning work was carried out at Shri Mallikeswar Temple under the leadership of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Somanath Pradhan
At the historic Gurupriya Bridge, Chief Development Officer Dasharath Sarabu supervised the cleanliness activities
At Mugi Point, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan participated
At the sacred Sita Kund, Sub-Collector Duryodhan Bhoi joined the cleanliness efforts
Similar activities were conducted with equal enthusiasm across various blocks and urban areas of the district. With the joint efforts of administrative officials and local residents, a collective commitment has been made to keep the district’s heritage clean and beautiful.
This initiative is expected to further boost the tourism potential of the district.
